Science teacher at Wright Robinson College

My first Graduate role was at Ao.com, this role developed me in sales, with a 2 week introduction learning everything I needed to about the products and also intensive sales training. This role was very heavily target driven with weekly targets being hit for hefty commission. The highlights of my time here would be Black Friday two weeks as the office had a very good energy even though all 120 members of staff worked 12 hour days for 14 days, we were all driven to achieving the teams goals and recognised we needed fun to get us there. The out of work events were incredible too showing that this company cares for their staff outside of work.

As a barman, I have developed a large amount of my personal skills, from cleaning to rapport building Working here I also developed my sales techniques due to the incentivised sales of certain products. The management team at the bar allowed me to teach new staff as well as lead on shifts, this allowed me develop my friendly and trusting management approach.

During this time as a Student Ambassador I always emphasised the Friendliness of the University of Bradford. Handling myself with a friendly, professional and consultative manner. I managed stalls at recruitment events, handled tours of the university campus and ran events with the staff team. As this role was effectively self employed, I measured my success in this role as I was always recommended to other members of staff.
