Hello, my name is Lance! I am a recent Tech Elevator graduate. Prior to their Java Bootcamp, I spent 9 years at Chase Bank servicing and processing mortgage loan accounts. While there I was a part of several acceptance testings for employee-facing applications. This sparked my interest in coding and building applications. I started to learn Swift and play around with iOS apps. After Chase, I became a lead teacher for an after-school program at a non-profit organization to lend a helping hand in my community. At this facility, I noticed they had an outdated system to check-in students and no communication portal for the parents. After speaking with the Director, I found an affordable application that reinvented the way parents interacted with the facility. I trained the management and staff on the new system and decided this was a passion I needed to pursue. I found Tech Elevator and quickly signed up to learn the skills I would need to become a developer. I hope to take the tools I've learned at Tech Elevator and join a diverse company that seeks to invest the their employees and their community. I’m looking forward to using my customer service background, my love of learning, and my team-player attitude, and apply my talents on a development team.
