Chief Academic Officer of the University of Southern Mississippi

Serve as chief academic officer of the Robert C. Vackar College of Business & Entrepreneurship. Charged with advancing mission of inclusive entrepreneurship and university goal of achieving Carnegie R1 status.

Served as chief academic officer for the Fowler College of Business and inaugural holder of the Thomas and Evelyn Page Deanship. Secured almost $15 million in philanthropic giving towards college naming endowment, improved student success metrics, and elevated academic reputation in global business and entrepreneurship. Created the Center to Advance Global Business and the Masters in Global Business Development. Moved undergraduate International Business program into top 5 public programs in US and undergraduate Entreprenuership program into the rankings.

Appointed by the president to chair transition team for newly-formed TTU Innovation Hub from concept through facility construction and to eventual placement as interdisciplinary I&E center under the EVP for Research.

Served on the board of directors of LEDA and Market Lubbock to assist the city and region in generating economic development through the recruitment and retention of business, university partnerships, and bringing tax-generating events to the area. TTU Innovation Hub developed from these efforts.

As dean of the Rawls College of Business I served as the chief academic officer for the college and represented the college to the external community. During my tenure we secured over $45 million in philanthropic gifts to the college, launched the STEM-MBA program, achieved a career placement rate over 90% for the first time, and reached new highs in multiple rankings. The elevation of research expenditures and productivity in the college was a major factor in university achieving Carnegie RU-VH status.

Managed the content and peer review process of this international finance journal published by Elsevier. As editor I secured the journal's initial citation impact factor and inclusion in the Social Sciences Citation Index.

As the dean at the College of Business at USM, I worked with my team to advance the undergraduate curriculum, initiated a student success center within the college, moved the college from a teaching mission to a balanced mission through greater research support for faculty, and heightened the awareness of the positive progress of the college through an external relations effort that also generated over $14 million in private funds for the college in four years. We also broke ground on Scianna Hall - the new home of the College of Business that was funded from private sources and bond funding that was the result of a lobbying effort with state officials. All of these efforts by our team resulted in the college moving into the US News & World Report rankings for the first time - placing in the top 200 in my final year as dean.

As the Chair of the FEQM Department I worked with 14 colleagues across the disciplines of Finance, Economics, and Decision Sciences. During my time as chair we launched the Green and Gold student managed investment fund (that has won multiple national competitions), started the Finance concentration in the MBA program, substantially overhauled the undergraduate curriculum, added the WRDS and Bloomberg databases, and increased funding for scholarships and faculty support.

Worked in National Consulting Practice with primary responsibility relating to mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities.
