36 Years Experience: Supervised 35 employees-10 machines: Marquip, BHS and Fosber corugator; Emba; Jumbo; 66" Ward 2-color; 66" Ward 3 color; 4-color; 50" Flexo; 66" Flexo; Langston/Saturn 50" Flexo Cascading/Wax machine; Revicart/folder gluer. 5S, Lean Manufacturing Process Improvement Manager (PIM) - Corrugator 2000 to 2005Waste Champion During this time as Waste Champion, approximately one year, I decreased our un-accounted for waste / shrink from an average of 3.8% to 1.9%. The over all waste number dropped an average 2.5%. During the past year, I set up a Best Settings Program for the BHS corrugator. The Best Settings Program consisted of several audits of machine settings after the desired Quality was met. Every heat setting, wrap setting and starch setting was documented for consistency. When the desired settings were obtained, they were entered into the BHS computers located at both the Double Back and Module Face workstations. A Best Setting program was reached for all board grades. These programs lowered waste on the BHS corrugator from 3.24% to 2.77%. I also worked with the maintenance department to make sure the desired PM’s were being preformed. As a PIM, I monitored all processes and procedures for the corrugator and shipping departments. I also helped write several procedures and work instruction with the Quality Manager. Quality Assurance Supervisor Process all Customer Complaints; Waste Audits; ISO Internal Audits; Work Instruction Training for all Corrugator employees; Monitor Moister Data from three corrugators; Process all Paper/Roll stock Complaints; Perform a Caustic Sensitivity Test /Weekly; Perform Count Audits, to make sure the Corrugator counts are within standard; Hold all Crew Meetings for three Corrugators and Shipping; Calibrate all Micrometers for three corrugators and nine converting machines.
