I am the Executive Director of the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association (ATRA). Founded in 1954, ATRA is an international trade association representing over 2,000 professionals in the automatic transmission repair industry. Our diverse membership includes repair specialists, students, schools, and suppliers, all dedicated to advancing Training, research, and improvements in transmission repair.As the Executive Director, I am instrumental in formulating and executing strategic business plans that have significantly contributed to ATRA's success. By fostering close collaboration with our members and Board of Directors, I steer daily operations and devise future initiatives, ensuring our sustained growth and influence in the industry.Key AchievementsWith over twenty years of experience in the transmission industry, I have made significant contributions in several areas:Education & Training: I've conducted seminars and Training sessions to share my transmission repair and maintenance expertise. My award-winning ATRA Seminar books and numerous manuals are well-regarded resources in the field.Published Works: I have authored over 50 articles on transmission issues for GEARS magazine and have been consulted by major news organizations such as the New York Times for my insights on transmission maintenance and repair.Strategic Planning & Management: I manage the strategic planning for the technical department at ATRA and am a member of the team of strategic planning directors. My responsibilities include overseeing the hotline, seminars, GEARS articles, bulletins, Shifting Times, repair manuals, and Expo content. I also serve as the editor for seminar and Expo manuals.Quality Assurance & Certification: I ensure the quality of our association and have developed and managed ATRA's Certification Program. I have also created and implemented webinars to support our members' education and professional development.

I am the Technical Director for the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association (“ATRA”). Founded in 1954, ATRA is an international trade association for the professional automatic transmission repair industry. ATRA has over 2,000 members worldwide. Our membership consists of more than 2,000 repair specialists, students, schools, and suppliers, all supporting the training, research and improvements for transmission repair. I have been the Technical Director for ATRA since 2000. In my role as Technical Director of ATRA, and based on my expertise in the transmission industry, I conduct seminars and training sessions, and write books and articles, concerning transmission repair and maintenance issues. I have written several manuals relating to transmission issues, including the award winning ATRA Seminar books, and over 50 articles on transmission issues for GEARS magazine. In addition, I have been contacted in the past by news organizations such as the New York Times (August 26, 2009 article re Toyota RAV4 transmission issues) to give an opinion on transmission maintenance and repair issues.I have been involved in the transmission industry for over twenty years, and have completed 130 courses on various automobile repair topics including transmission issues. Before taking on my position at ATRA, I was a master technician specializing in transmission repair. I manage the strategic planning for technical department and a member of ATRA strategic planning directors team.Responsible for hotline, seminar, GEARS article, Bulletin, Shifting times, Repair manual and Expo content. Editor of seminar and Expo manual. Author and technical editor of Gears magazine articles, bulletins and content online. Quality assurance of the technical department. ATRA Certification Program developer and manager. Webinar development and implementation.
