I hope to start my own lab one day in studying and reprogramming basic cellular organelle functions to further understand the origin of life and amplify biomedical research efforts. I also hope to do so in the intersection of science policy and to contribute my future science expertise in reforming policies that will advocate for underserved communities, particularly on scientific communication, evidence based health-policy reform, and increase scientific funding. I believe what deemed as talents are mostly trainable, which is why I am grateful for the countless life changing mentors and educators that have trained, guided, and educated me throughout my life. Especially when I don't fit in the traditional molds of higher education growing up below the poverty line, as an immigrant, and as a first-generation college student. I had engaged in education reform, human rights activism, LGBTQ+ rights, and environmental conservation since fifteen. I believe that kindness, passion, and resiliency will help me acquire the ability and knowledge to promote positive social changes through the scientific method, with and for the people that I love.
