Yes, I am an insurance geek. I grew up on ranches in Colorado and New Mexico. After graduate school, I found myself a long way away in Chicago working in livestock insurance claims. I liked being able to help people who had suffered a loss after an event. I learned about claims, underwriting, product, and working with different cultures. I successfully completed a complex training course in adjusting business income losses with no experience and brought that back to our product development. After 19 years it was time for a change. I hadn't seen myself in sales, but I started selling insurance in another niche market (churches, non-profits and child cares). I love being the person who gets to say "Here is how you can stay safe and protect people and property from harm" instead of being the person who is called when you're trying to put the pieces back together! I love meeting so many different types of people and helping them understand how insurance can work for them! The great thing is that it is now cool to be a geek. I'm also usually the first one to adapt and adopt to IT system changes and the curveballs of the market place. I believe systems should be useful tools adding value, not taking people away from focusing on customers! I've been explaining insurance to people, even my two daughters, my entire career and look forward to meeting you!
