I bring a broad portfolio of planning and project management experience to HKGi. The breadth of my work has touched all aspects of planning, including comprehensive plans, downtown master plans, public health initiatives, grant writing (securing over $250 million in grants), and day-to-day planning services. With 20 years of experience, my work has focused on helping balance land use decisions with transportation needs. My expertise includes parking studies, long-range multimodal transportation plans, corridor studies, performance measures, and pavement preservation plans. With a broad portfolio of planning experience, I bring a passion for community and transportation planning to SRF, as well as established relationships with communities and agencies. The breadth of my work at SRF has touched all aspects of planning, including comprehensive plans, long-range transportation plan, downtown master plans, grant writing, and day-to-day planning services. More recently, my work has focused on parking studies. This work has given me the opportunity to lead and manage parking plans for the Cities of Willmar, Prior Lake and Saint Paul, Metro Transit, Met Council, Minnesota Historical Society, Augsburg College, and the University of Minnesota Duluth. My position helped establish statewide goals for new areas/projects related to the built environment, public health and climate change. More importantly, it has forged new partnerships in bridging the gap between public health and planning. Bridging this gap has provided a new lens in thinking about planning projects from a public health perspective. This work has evolved around the use of Health Impact Assessments (HIAs) for various planning projects throughout the state. The breadth of my work has used this tool/process to evaluate transportation projects, comprehensive plans and regional planning policies from a public health and active living perspective.
