Setting up and establishing Hawke's Bay's second largest and highly successful architectural design company with my partner, architect Toni Thomas. Supplying architectural concept designs and drawings for residential, commercial and industrial projects. My role included:• Managing all financial and human resource functions, including debtors, creditors and payroll • Designing and implementing all sales and marketing activity, corporate strategy and delivering effective key account relationship management

• Overseeing development and marketing activities for key council facilities in Hastings, including the Municipal Theatre, Splash Planet, the Hastings Top 10 Holiday Park and the Visitor Information Centre• Managing each business unit within operational budget, including replacing the Visitor Information Centre with a new i-SITE, upgrading the Holiday Park and scoping the redesign of the Theatre precinct, rebranding it as Hawke’s Bay Opera House• Collaborating widely in developing and implementing Hawke’s Bay Wine Country• Managing a team of 20 full time staff, 25 seasonal employees and a volunteer group; providing strategic and tourism sector leadership and managing all financial and human resource activity

• Merging the existing Tourism Auckland Inc. and Auckland Visitors Centre Inc. into a new entity, successfully joining the two organisations and establishing contracted funding streams with seven Auckland Councils and a large membership base• Working with Colenso as lead agency, rebranding the city for the tourism sector ahead of the America’s Cup defence of 2000• Established the NZ Media Resource Centre for AC2000, Millennium, APEC
