Aqi Director Of Registries And OperationsAmerican Society Of Anesthesiologists® May 2010 - Dec 2015As the AQI Executive, I was responsible for strategic and executive leadership of the Anesthesia Quality Institute (“AQI”), a 501(c) (3) non-profit. During my time as Director of AQI, we grew the project from 4 practices to 500 practices. Our case count grew from 250K to 32M anesthesia procedures. I led our participation in CMS value-based payment systems as a PQRS and then a QCDR. I helped grow the department from 4 to 14 employees. I mentored and helped coach the employees in the department with the help of our HR Occupational Development manager. The department grew from a budget of $1M to $2.5M. We also grew revenue from $0 to $800K. Remaining budget was provided as a grant from the society.• Lead the development and implementation/adoption of the anesthesia clinical data collection platforms. The National Anesthesia Clinical Outcomes Registry (NACOR) is the primary registry of AQI. AQI maintains multiple additional incident reporting registries.• Lead the deployment of technical and business resources to achieve objects of AQI Board of Directors. Provide recommendations on resources – staffing, budgeting, and professional development• Ensure high quality of data through quality control techniques. Oversee and provide guidance on general policies, standard operating procedures and quality assurance processes for data abstraction, data analysis, data submission and data reporting• Responsible for AQI IT and vendor management and operations team.• Provides leadership, administrative and management support, strategic planning and overall direction of the Quality Improvement and Quality Management program• Act as Privacy Officer for the AQI PSO.
