I lead the off-road and traction mode development testing for North America (and in some case the world). This role involves working with various groups of engineers, suppliers, logic developers, calibration engineers and managements from several countries to test/evaluate/tune all AWD vehicles developed for the North America customer. This involves setting off-road development direction, analyzing current competitiveness, and creating tuning procedures for terrain modes. I have worked very hard to develop the terrain traction direction for Hyundai Motor Group, and the work I have done will be a part of Hyundai Motor Group for many years. I have also enjoyed working with PR from Hyundai and Kia on media launches and off-road experiences. I am known to Hyundai Motor Group as a leading off-road expert.

I evaluate and tune off-road and awd chassis controls, including; powertrain calibrations, awd calibrations, and brake controls. I assist in the tuning of these systems to increase performance and safety on different surfaces. I have been tasked with coordinating off-road tests which includes leading trips, and working with other departments like chassis, tire, thermal, and powertrain on subjective and objective issues seen on different surfaces and obstacles. I coordinate this effort closely with counterparts in several countries. As an off-road specialist I also work closely with our sales affiliates to direct the product and assist in media events where off-roading is presented.

I evaluated and tuned braking systems for the North America market, aswell as other chassis evaluations. This includes running objective and subjective tests for stopping distance, pedal feel, brake cooling, traction control, trailer brake, regenerative braking, and high altitude testing. I have tested and tuned mostly disconnected brake systems with a pedal simulator (brake-by-wire), with the occasional vacuum boosted system. I had the opportunity of working on most of the models Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis sell in North America. I work at the proving grounds and enjoy the opportunity I have to drive and evaluate cutting edge automotive machines.

Assisted the sustaining engineer responsible for three engine assembly lines. Designed and implemented, several pick to light systems and a verification system for pistons and cylinders. As well as many other smaller projects that came up in every day production meetings. Improved time, quality, ergonomics, and visibility on all three assembly lines. My efforts resulted in reduced costs and reduced warranty issues for the company.
