The restoration of the 8,750 hectare Winton Wetlands is a project of national scientific, cultural and environmental significance. It is a wetland restoration project of global recognition with the Society of Wetland Scientists declaring the site a "Wetland of Distinction" the first out of the USA. Located in north east Victoria, between the regional cities of Benalla and Wangaratta, the Winton Wetlands Reserve has 3800Ha of wetlands surrounded by 4,950Ha of red gum and box grassy woodlands, which includes 1850Ha of grazing land. The Winton Wetlands Committee of Management (WWCoM) was created by the Victorian Government to guide restoration and economic development of the Wetlands.There are three elements to the restoration efforts for the Reserve: 1. Revive natural processes - water regime2. Restore habitat – water quality, revegetation, removing pests & weeds3. Rewild species that can’t return themselves

Building a water stewardship community in Western Port, AustraliaOur project, being led by Western Port Biosphere in collaboration with Water Stewardship Australia, Ingham Enterprises, and a group of regional stakeholders* is aiming to build collaboration between major water users, the community, water agencies, local government and other stakeholders around the framework of the International Water Stewardship Standard. We are working with landholders, businesses and organisations across several catchments of the Biosphere to develop Site Water Stewardship Plans to address their specific site risks and protect site and catchment values. Funding from Helen Macpherson Smith Trust and our partners has enabled this work and we now have a chicken processor, horticulture farms, plant nurseries, livestock producers, grazing properties, horse breeders/agistment properties, schools, camp site, wetland reserves, golf courses, animal sanctuaries, vineyard, and a steel maker involved. We have also learned valuable lessons about the water stewardship process and its value in water, stream and catchment management.

Chairing a charitable board to help people in the Pacific, India and elsewhere to alleviate povery and malnutrition through aquaculture ventures. Recently elected to the chair role after being a Board Member since 2018 of Aquaculture without Frontiers (Australia).

This is a board position, appointed by the Secretary of Primary Industries and reports to the Executive Director, Fisheries Victoria. The Translocation Evaluation Panel (TEP) includes members from the fishery industry sector, Dept of Sustainability and Environment, and Fisheries Victoria. The TEP evaluates applications for fish translocation into and throughout Victoria, Australia and advises the Executive Director, Fisheries Victoria on the potential risks of these proposed translocation.

I managed the consulting arm of the business, the Environmental Services Division.
