As Capital Advisors Group’s Director of Research, Lance Pan assesses the risk and relative value of asset classes and credits, creates advanced credit approval and surveillance procedures, issues credit opinions, and provides investment strategy recommendations. In addition to leading cash investment research, Lance oversees the firm’s Credit Committee. His research is widely referenced, including his work on systemic risks in prime money market funds before the 2008 financial crisis. In 2011, the SEC sought his input on its subsequent reforms to the industry.Previously, at Columbia Management Group (FleetBoston Financial) in Boston, he was responsible for fundamental analysis and related strategies for the firm’s mutual funds and large institutional accounts. Lance received an MSF from Boston College, an MBA and an M.A. in communications from the University of Hawaii, and a B.A. in English from Fudan University. He is a CFA charter holder and member of the CFA Society Boston. In his spare time, Lance trains for marathon running.
