Atomic Magazine is a collegiate, student-led science publication which provides aspiring scientists with a platform to write about anything and everything to their passion. We collect and edit articles before compiling them into a magazine and online newsletters for pupils, staff, and parents to read.Atomic is currently working to create a multi-disciplinary competition to promote scientific thinking and communication beyond the classroom.

I joined a research team led by Dr Shuicheng Yan of (then) SEA AI Lab (SAIL) along with colleagues from the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, focusing on developing a method to automatically generate background music for a given video using Artificial Intelligence. During my one-month internship at TianXueWang Education Technologies Holdings, Inc., I joined a new initiative as part of a three-person team, which focused on the development of an AI aimed at improving the English writing skills of KS12 students in Chinese schools. As part of this project, I processed a massive text corpus of over 80 million sentences using NLP tools such as Spacy and Regex. As part of this project, I processed a massive text corpus of over 80 million sentences using NLP tools such as Spacy and Regex. I designed and implemented efficient data processing pipelines, which enabled extracting of relevant linguistic features and the creation of labelled datasets for training the AI model.In addition, I developed a semi-automated pipeline for fine-tuning the AI model, which allowed for iterative feedback and improvement of the system's accuracy and performance. Through this experience, I gained valuable skills in NLP, data processing, and machine learning, as well as exposure to the education technology industry.I am proud to have contributed to a project with the potential to positively impact the educational outcomes of hundreds of thousands of students.
