About Paul Landa

I studied at Delft University of Technology and graduated in the field of civil engineering with a specialisation in coastal engineering. I successfully graduated with a graduation assignment at Witteveen+Bos. The subject of the graduation thesis was to prove the wave overtopping resistance of the Afsluitdijk. In 2014 I started working at Witteveen+Bos as a project engineer coastal and river engineering. I have been assigned to a wide variety of projects in the past years. On the one hand Paul has been involved in designing breakwaters, bed protections and flood defenses, on the other hand thinking about design choices and safety philosophies. I am content driven and try to learn from each project. I try to widen my perspective and am interested in other specialisations within a project. Eventually I strive for a leading role within a company or within project teams.

I have been involved in a wide varierity of national and international projects in the past years. Projects varied from breakwater and harbour design, bed protections, flood protections and lock design in different design phases. The clients are mainly mid to large size contractors, waterboards, Rijkswaterstaat and ministries. Projects include, but are not limtited to:- Tender Zeesluis IJmond - Sluiwachter IJmuiden (Heijmans - Jan de Nul - John Laing);- Fort Bay Harbour, Saba - Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management- Port of St. Eustatius - Ministry of infrastructure and water management- Strenthening of the flood defence Den Oever - Aan Den Oever (Van Oord - Hakkers)- Shipbuilding and ship repair yard Kuryk, Kazakhstan. Currently I am working as a coastal engineer on the DBFM project Afsluitdijk on behalf of Levvel (combination of BAM - Van Oord and Rebbel).
