Landis Wiedner is a podcast host for What the EF, a space to share, laugh, and cry at epilepsy WTF moments. She’s also a freelance journalist, publishing articles and conducting interviews to raise awareness and create a touchstone for the epilepsy community. Landis is the editor for Living Well With Epilepsy. She is currently working on her funny memoir, My Brain Tumor's Boyfriend. Previously, Landis was the communications director for Wiedner & McAuliffe's human resources, public relations, and non-profit departments. She managed the Cristo Rey work study program, in which students are employed as clerks for partial tuition reimbursement. Landis also served as the team lead for hiring and marketing. With a strong background in project management for event planning and marketing campaigns, Landis worked with DePaul University's Digital Youth Network as their internal and external communications lead. In this role, Landis managed citywide program rollouts and youth-oriented events, working with The Grammy Foundation, Best Buy's Geek Squad, and the Chicago Mayor’s Office. Landis has produced small to large scale events, such as a teen festival at Northerly Island Pavilion and a comedy show fundraiser for Beyond Type 1 at the Willis Tower. Landis is a former Chicago high school English teacher and continues to mentor former students. Landis enjoys writing, running, and comedy. She is currently working on her funny memoir, My Brain Tumor’s Boyfriend and Type 1, a comedic project that raises awareness and breaks stereotypes about Type 1 diabetes.
