Led’s career has taken shape due to three constants still in play to this day; Music, BMX & Design. Together, these passions have shaped where he started from and continues to grow.After high school Led was placed in the Commercial Art & Design program at CVCC in Hickory, NC where he received his AAS Degree. Led was hired right out of school as a designer at the Forbes Agency in Lenoir, NC. 3 months later he was promoted to art director but resigned and moved to Shelby, NC where his music career was taking shape.Over the next few years he toured the country with his band, recording and playing with his favorite artists, while competing nationally in BMX Flatland competitions. During this time Led was sharpening his design skills while holding various odd jobs, and growing his own network of clients in the music industry.In 1999, Led moved to Winston-Salem, NC. Failure to get a job interview at any agency in town, Led decided to do it himself and launched Airtype with $600 in 2006.As a designer, Led has been awarded over 45 international awards, and has been published in several leading design books.In addition to Airtype, Led started Camel City Goods (Apparel), is a partner at The Ramkat (Music Venue) & continues his hobbies in historic restorations and woodworking.Led currently resides in Winston-Salem, NC with his family.
