Investigaytors is a journey into the basics of community-based research. Participants learn about various research methods, data collection and analysis, research ethics and anti-oppressive research approaches, and more. The program culminates in hands-on research experience, in which participantsdevelop and undertake an original research project for one of our community partners.In this role, I lead the development, delivery, and facilitation of Investigaytors workshops, administer evaluation tools, act as a point of contact for program participants, support the development and implementation of a community-based research project, support the collection and storage of data, and support the creation of knowledge translation and exchange materialsand dissemination of the data.

Teaching Community Practice Methods (SOWK 210)

Through this two year project, I worked alongside my fellow Hate Crimes Community Liaison collaboratively and directly with communities most targeted by hate and bias-motivated crimes. Together, we recommended to the provincial government how to develop and implement a coordinated and comprehensive strategy to prevent these crimes and best support victims.
