Our priority is to increase enrollment at the university and be a resource for students and families seeking to understand the higher education process. My duties require me to collaborate effectively with partners internally and externally at the institution. I also am responsible for advocating for my staff to ensure tools such as our Customer Relationships Management System is operating effectively and supporting our efforts to help students achieve their goals and dreams in higher education.In 2022, I was tasked with ultimately streamlining first-year students, transfer recruitment, and outreach programs into one team. Within that time frame, our team has increased engagement with students interested in pursuing their education at UNT or seeking guidance on how the college process works by 20 percent. I was also a crucial part of efforts to restructure the Admissions Office of 70 full-time employees. I led efforts to promote front-line personnel to positions that allowed Admissions Recruiters to supervise student employees that support outreach efforts. In addition to my broad duties within the Admissions Structure, I have continued to oversee the Office of Outreach by delegating tasks to individuals I supervise.In 2023, our team broke our new freshmen enrollment goal for the third time in four years. We enrolled more than 7,000 freshmen, with an increasingly diverse student class. -

Outreach hosted elementary and middle school-aged children's events to introduce the concept of higher education at a young age. Our student employees, G-Force Mentors, assisted students in high school and peers at UNT in completing the enrollment process's critical functions, such as financial aid and admissions applications. I also worked closely with the Institutional Equity, Diversity, and Access (IDEA) to create strategic initiatives to recruit and retain students of color and other populations that face barriers to accessing higher education. Such efforts also included collaborating with campus and community partners to develop and maintain culturally relevant and intentional outreach initiatives that aligned with UNT's goal to achieve the status of a Hispanic Serving institution, which was accomplished in 2020. -
