I am currently a Project Engineer at DPR Construction in Morrisville, NC, a commercial contractor and construction manager located just out side of the RTP area. I spent my undergrad years at North Carolina State University's College of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering. While attending, I took part in internships with two different companies in alternating semesters. I joined the Co-op program at NC State and had the opportunity to work with Southland Industries, a Design-Build mechanical contractor in Dulles, VA. Through my connections there, I received the opportunity to work with the Utilities & Engineering division here at NC State. These experiences greatly enhanced my knowledge of the HVAC and Distribution Industries. My last two rotations with Southland were on the operations side, working under the Project Managers as the Project Engineer. These experiences swayed my interests more towards the operations/management side of the industry. Not to mention that I worked under the Head Plant Engineer here at NC State, who is the point of contact for any major construction involving the systems and also must use engineering principles to solve problems, say with the system pumps, boilers, heat exchangers, etc.
