While working in the fundraising and merchandising industry, I was able to further my expertise in working with school band programs while providing them the means to pay for needed equipment and trip expenses. While working for a small business, I gained a wealth of knowledge and depth of experience by immersing myself in each step of the business process. From purchasing to final delivery, I assured my services made it possible for programs to afford what they needed. Every work day brought me to a new opportunity involving a breadth of programs and fundraising campaigns with wide-ranging budgets, student demographics, and merchandise. During my career as a music educator, it was necessary to take on a full gamete of professional roles. As a teacher, students, parents, administration, and the school board expect consistency in my level of performance and competency. Organization, preparation, and the ability to quickly adapt to ever-evolving regulatory standards have helped me to build a successful program and help students reach their academic, personal, and spiritual potentials.As a private instructor, I spend one-on-one time with students. Private lessons are a privilege many students never have. Keeping an open dialogue and relationship with parents to discuss their child’s progress and personal accounts are crucial in student retention. Music is often a product to be sold, to do so one must effectively demonstrate its benefits.
