Our Exception Tracking system is built on struts with a hibernate backend and uses quartz for job scheduling. It uses AJAX and JSON in the web interface to "zone" documents to create templates that allow the system to identify an image type then collect the zoned data for comparison against user-defined tests. Tests that fail become exceptions, which the server then formats, using BIRT or Jasper, and sends to the system manager for resolution. Neat, huh?
