Expanded market reach, developing strategic partnerships with 8+ foundations that delivered $500,000 in revenue from social enterprises. Orange County Children & Family Commission (First 5) – Established a consortium of diverse stakeholders including OC United Way & OC Community Foundation to develop long range strategy to address children reading at grade level. Raised $2.8 million over eight years, establishing community-based leadership team to leverage relationships with 3 key funding sources, and integrate programs at 4 school districts.

Executive staff responsible for Garden’s philanthropic revenue generation and integration with operations.  Joined the Garden first supporting with coaching and support, and then as staff on management team to advance strategic efforts to grow revenue that would engage more people to join as members and donors to the Garden.  During tenure, was responsible for laying infrastructure for future success in fundraising and membership, and raised funds.  Delivered $200,000 in funding in short term, managing membership/fundraising team to deliver establishing key philanthropic relationships and improving donor retention.

Newport Beach, Ca

Established and led department to provide supportive services to affordable housing residents in properties in which AHA was an owner. Established new department of Philanthropy & Resident Services which awarded grants of more than $2.6 million dollars to nonprofit organizations and small businesses over 7 years. Emergency Rent Assistance program that managed and provided $120,000 in rent assistance benefiting more than 300 people. Accelerated long term sustainability for nonprofit and small businesses, providing business coaching. Founded and managed new nonprofit “Community Engagement”, a social impact artist in residence program within affordable housing communities, revitalizing communities throughout Orange County and Phoenix, AZ.

Newport Beach, Ca

Led team of 43 to build the capacity of working people and their children and seniors living on fixed incomes to achieve stability and self-sufficiency. Advanced organization from start-up $260,000 in annual income to $3.1 million annual revenue, and raised $1 million in in-kind commitments of resource center physical space and supplies and a reserve fund of $800,000. Expanded impact from 6 Family and Senior Resource Center sites in affordable housing to 36 statewide in 10 counties, Grew staff from 6 to 46. Secured earned income contracts with 8 affordable housing developers in CA, delivering 70% of annual revenue. Achieved 90% success in securing foundation grant support, leading fundraising, marketing, media, and community relations efforts. Negotiated and maintained relationships with affordable housing owners; drafted all new business proposals, MOUs/contracts with property owners, service providers, and partner agencies.

Santa Ana, California

Co-founded with key community leadership and directed CONNECT to support community-based organizations in their successful business operations and service impact. Recruited and managed 6 staff, 2 consultants and 13 executive coach volunteers. Co-Founded Executive Coaches of Orange County which incubated at CONNECT and spun off into nonprofit organization two years later. Served as liaison and contract manager to Children and Families Commission or Orange County (CFCOC) grantees and provided consulting to other local funders’ grantees. Founded and oversaw the administration of a local AmeriCorps Initiative for CFCOC and consulted with First 5 California to develop a 9-year AmeriCorps initiative across Calif. Supported 18 county-funded Family Resource Centers with community engagement and capacity building.

USA Cycling is the national governing body for bicycle racing in the United States. Managed National Collegiate Cycling League and its ten Regions, 120 club organizations, represented national organization at three annual events across the nation, and reported to board of advisors. Managed the Masters Cycling Program of 300,000+ members and supported two annual events nationally. Established a Women’s Program with two Olympians and launched national camps for women. Liaised with the Paralympic Cycling Teams and supported disabled cyclists in their competition pursuits.
