I pride myself on being a good team member and friend. Throughout my life, I have loved being apart of sports teams and clubs. Among these, I had the honor of being my High School swim and tennis team captain junior and senior year. In college, I became apart of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. And I enjoyed every minute of it! During my new member process, I took the role of new member secretary. My job was to make sure my new member class was where they needed to be, at the right time. My organization and communication skills were put to the test and ended up improving tremendously. After my initiation, my brothers voted me in as Assistant New Member Educator. This position gave me an opportunity to improve my teaching and coordination skills within my chapter. I needed to be the brother making sure the new members stayed focussed and completed every task given to them. I then achieved the first goal I set for myself within the Fraternity. I won the election for Vice President of my chapter. This position meant a lot to me and I was determined to do the best job I could. My main task was to keep my twenty officers productive and completing the goals they set for themselves. I found the best way to get things done was to inspire the officers to find meaning in their duties. I was voted in as President of my fraternity. Achieving this, meant I checked off another goal I set for myself when I first became a member. The last president told me, “Get ready for a flood of emails every day.” I now realize he wasn't kidding! If I didn’t keep in constant communication with the University, Chapter Advisors, and House Corporation, I would be failing my position and my chapter. I am now employed at a fantastic company and work with some amazing people that make me feel right at home. I have been apart of many teams in my life to accomplish different goals. I can confidently say that the group I work with at Halo is the most productive, efficient, and kind team I have ever had the pleasure to be apart of.
