After finishing up my time at Medium, I decided to take an intentional career break to rest, reset and just be.

I oversee the entire People Function at Medium, which includes a team of 11 People Experts, as well as our RPO Partnership team (team of 5). Our People Practice includes teams focused on Learning & Development, HR business partnership, Operations/IT/Analytics, and Recruiting.As part of the Executive Team, I work in lockstep with Leaders across the organization on everything from big-picture planning and strategy, to the nitty-gritty execution of all things People related (hiring, training, employee relations, performance, etc.). I've also experienced business pivots which have led to scaling back the team in an intentional way. I've supported three separate Acquisitions, one being international. I have also owned our Compensation work, leading the team through a compensation audit and subsequent roll out of new compensation philosophy and bands.

I led a highly engaged, high-performing group of recruiting folks. Together, we grew our company by 153% since early 2019. More than that, we established a thorough recruiting practice for the organization, shipped new processes and projects (iterated on them, and shipped 'em again), and continue to showcase Medium as a "best place to work".I also lead projects beyond the core Recruiting scope, including: Compensation Audit/Analysis/Implementation, ERG Framework, Workplace Experience.Senior Manager - March 2019 to November 2020Director - November 2020 to October 2021

This role was my introduction to the Recruiting world -- one fill & I fell in love! Here, I built the foundation of my career and learned the importance of two major keys of recruiting -- Urgency and Relationships. Those two gems have stuck with me through my career. I pride myself on having a great understanding of the client's need (urgency!) and my ability to seek & foster strong professional relationships. I recruited top creative talent across all industries in the following disciplines: creative/art direction, interactive/web/print designers, web/print production specialists, copywriters, editors/proofreaders, project/traffic managers & coordinators.- Source, screen & interview prospective candidates via online job boards (CareerBuilder, Monster, etc.) social networks (Linked In, Twitter), and creative portfolio sites (Behance, Coroflot, CargoCollective, etc.)- Fill short/long-term freelance assignments & permanent positions- Identify & present fully qualified candidates to clients- Maintain relationships with current pool of talent, foster new relationships with recently recruited & prospective talent
