Leads inspection, compliance, enforcement and mishap response for the Office of Commercial Space

Led a team of 1,500 Air Force and contractor personnel and managed critical processing facilities valued at over $7 billion in support of Department of Defense (DoD), civil and commercial space launch activities. Conducted mission assurance activities on the Eastern Range’s military, commercial, NASA, and ballistic missile launch operations from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and Kennedy Space Center. Operated and maintained $20B in instrumentation and infrastructure for the 15-million square mile Eastern Range including three airfields and supported 10,000 customers with communications and cyber services.

Led team of 1500 Air Force and contractor personnel as the command focal point for mission assurance and execution of space launch activities supporting DoD, NASA and NRO payloads. Provided operations, engineering, acquisition and integration support to DoD satellites and Delta IV, Atlas V, and Falcon 9 launch vehicles.

Advised the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force on oversight of 400+ defense acquisition programs in $235B portfolio. Chaired USAF's $31B RDT&E Panel to build the Air Force budget request including Science & Technology efforts, Test & Evaluation ranges and facilities and the acquisition workforce. Prepared flag-level AF leaders for budget deliberations with OSD, JCS, & Congress on all AF modernization programs. Conducted acquisition assessments, coordinates detailed budget exhibits, & reports on ACAT I programming to OSD & Joint Staff.

Led 800+ person team across 24 states & Pacific Rim responsible for recruiting 9,500 enlisted personnel, officers and medical professionals annually. Responsible for $10M operations budget, 450 vehicles and 295 recruiting offices. Shattered recruiting goals and led unit to best performance ever, achieving a top 10 ranking in all four major categories and recognition as the best Air Force recruiting unit in the nation.

Led 15 member acquisition team in procurement of medium/heavy launch vehicles for national security payloads. Directed contracts worth $7B and oversaw/evaluated $700M/yr production activities of 3K contractors at 30 different locations.

Provided strategic/operational space system expertise and advised the Vice Chief of Defence Staff on space combat effects. Authority on allied space systems, doctrine, policy, strategy and tactics for $800M Canadian Forces space program.

Directed staff and operations in standup of new 1300 person organization combining three acquisition program offices. Led joint team initiating $4B program, study and solicitation to modernize nuclear command & control cryptography.

Principal assistant to agency Senior Acquisition Executive interfacing with highest levels of the intelligence community. Led 35 member corporate sourcing program office through business process re-engineering and solicitation build/execution for installation and logistics support. Lead engineer on development program for world’s fastest and most secure national satellite encryption systems.

Led launch crew command & control of mission systems to support DoD, NASA, commercial and ballistic missile launch programs. Ensured positive control, combat readiness and targeting of 150 ICBMs across 12,500 sq mile missile complex.
