Programming Assistant
Current•Conduct print trafficking by keeping track of contents of various hard drives, coordinating delivery of digital DCPs and KDMs, and transporting physical hard drives and physical DCPs to venues including Film Forum, IFC Center, DCTV, SVA Theatre, Scandinavia House, Alamo Drafthouse Downtown Brooklyn, Jacob Burns Film Center and Sag Harbor Cinema•Conduct tech checks at various venues including Film Forum, DCTV, SVA Theatre, and Scandinavia House•Collect and track all assets for up to 100 selected short and feature films (exhibition files, stills, trailers, synopses, bios, etc.)•Screen and review hundreds of film festival submissions, evaluating entries based on NYICFF’s diverse programming initiatives•Reach out to individual filmmakers, talent agents, and production companies to solicit screeners for our festival•Help craft the festival’s screening committee program and support the jury review process•Act as main point of contact for up to 70 inquiring and participating filmmakers and distributors•Submit invoices for screening committee members, distributors, and visiting filmmakers •Work non-festival weekend screenings helping with event set-up, scanning in patrons, collecting ballots from audience members, and distributing merchandise•Research films for non-festival screenings throughout the year•Review licensing agreements from distributors of selected films•Book hotel accommodations for members of visiting film teams•Proofread website copy to go to print to publicize festival lineup•Send out filmmaker toolkits containing marketing info for filmmakers and distributors to market their films•Send screeners to journalists per press agent requests•Schedule and conduct interviews with applicants for programming internships•Revise and administer licensing agreements to distributors and filmmakers to confirm NYICFF Tour participation
