• As a frontline fundraiser, secure major annual and capital commitments through continuous relationship building, solicitation and stewardship of a portfolio of prospective and current donors of five and six-figure + capacity.• Collaborate with campaign team to develop and implement strategies to support the agency’s $150 million capital campaign efforts.• Cultivate relationships with board members, inspiring and involving them in fundraising and solicitation strategies.• Help build a robust pipeline of potential future donors that will allow the organization to strengthen its relationship with its existing giving base and broaden its support.• Revive a dormant planned giving program.• As primary development/communications liaison to satellite location, responsible for steering the site’s fundraising and marketing efforts:• Develop and implement strategy to raise additional $6.5 million to meet $13 million goal for capital projects.• Cultivate relationships with existing donors, as well as key staff members and volunteers.• Identify and steward relationships with new donors, prospects and volunteer leadership.• Create fundraising infrastructure including special events, naming opportunities and donor recognition plan.• Build a grateful patient/grateful family initiative.• Work in partnership with a diverse group of professionals to build and implement a comprehensive marketing plan.

As UHR’s first Director of Development, I built and managed a highly successful and multi-faceted development program. Under my leadership, UHR’s annual fundraising income increased each year (except 2008), with a record $1.1 million raised in 2014. During my tenure as Director, I led two capital campaigns from start to finish, raising $1.2 million and $6.1 million, closing record gifts of $250,000 and $2.5 million, respectively. I managed a portfolio of 65-70 major donors each year, coordinating cultivation, solicitation, stewardship and recognition for each. I oversaw a robust calendar of special events, including four major (gala, golf outing, run/walk festival and tree of life) and numerous minor events each year. I managed the grantseeking process, including research, grantwriting, stewardship and reporting. I created a donor stewardship program that ensured contact with donors commensurate with their level of giving. I worked closely with our board of directors and specifically with the board chair. I participated on the nominating committee, identifying and recruiting community leaders to serve on the UHR board and its committees. I helped orient new board members to their fundraising responsibilities. I fostered board members’ involvement with the agency by encouraging their participation on committees and in initiatives that best matched their personal interests and skills. I solicited board members’ personal financial support. I recruited, trained, stewarded and collaborated with volunteers on fundraising projects, special events committees and in the office. I developed the agency’s annual fundraising budget, projecting income and expenses. I monitored our financial status throughout the year, and made adjustments accordingly to ensure that we met our fundraising goals. I worked closely with the CFO to prepare reports and to ensure financial compliance and transparency.
