With a solid educational background, passion for creating compelling stories, and a wealth of professional experience, I thrive in dynamic environments and have a proven track record of success in various roles.🎓Educational BackgroundI earned my Bachelor of Arts in Government from Patrick Henry College, but a few years out of college, I switched industries from politics to English, and obtained an editing certification through the Professional Sequence in Editing program at UC Berkeley Extension.✍Professional experienceSince earning my certification, I’ve worked in several editing-based roles with an emphasis on content management and coordination. Most recently, I served as the Managing Editor for Communications at the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA). In this role, I took charge of curating, editing, and finalizing articles for HSLDA's quarterly print magazine, the Home School Court Report. I’ve headed up several special projects for the organization, such as spearheading the editing and design process for their most recent flagship print memo, “What is Homeschooling?” I have also worked as an Editor and Copywriter for Tempo Storm, where I have crafted engaging website content, email pushes, social media content, and marketing copy for their game and corporate websites. My expertise extends to managing and collaborating with authors, while maintaining a comprehensive style guide for Tempo Storm's editorial team.🎯Where to go from here? In an increasingly technological world, it feels like our ability to interact humanely, connect socially, and relate empathetically has diminished.
