I worked as an Independent Contract Courier making small parcel/package deliveries around the Southeast.

I was brought to CTMS to head up the operations end of a major Military contract. The contract wasn't awarded by MTMC and I found myself running the traffic departments for 5 US Foods distribution centers from Portland, OR to Port St Lucie, FL. CTMS ultimately was bought out by ROCOR International and consolidated into the Corporate office in Oklahoma City.

Worked in the Shipping and Non-Conveyable Department. Responsible for the accurate loading and billing of 40-50 truckloads of store products daily. Managed and coached approximately 55 associates in the proper loading and securing of the trailers.

Joined the pre-commissioning crew of the GW while in the shipyard preparing for her commissioning. I was Division Office of the Material Dept, responsible for all consumables and non-aviation/nuclear repair parts. Managed 50+ sailers and CPOs with 32 storerooms spread out in the Aircraft Carrier. Major player in the organization, set-up and clean-up of the commissioning ceremonies for over 500 VIPs and 10,000 attendees.

Managed the Fleet Cargo Control Division of the Navy Material Transportation Office in Norfolk, VA. FCCD was responsible for the efficient routing of Navy and Marine Corps material from distributions centers and depots to the end user units. Operated the QuikTrans airfreight movement service and managed the mobile NOACTs. During Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm we activated the Civil Reserve Air Fleet to compensate for the loss of military aircraft to move military freight overseas. Awarded the Navy Commendation Medal in January 1992.

Served as the Supply Officer in charge of all supply department operations. Reporting directly to the Commanding Officer, I managed over $1 million in annual operating expenses for a crew of 100. Earned the Surface Warfare Supply Corps Officer designation in 1988. Awarded Navy Acheivement Medal for sustained superior performance during 6 month WESTPAC deployment operational cruise.
