Running the competitive robotics program continues to be the most rewarding experience of my life. I have developed 3 design pillars for the program which are community, self-improvement, and competitive spirit. Students aren't only focusing on building a competitive robot and winning awards but also thinking about how they can help others. Am I exhausted? Often. Is it worth it? Absolutely.This year our students just finished making a website for us. Check it out!

Currently I teach Grade 10 ICS2O, Introduction to Computer Science. This is from the Ontario curriculum. Current ECAs: Robotics club, Coding Cafe (programming club).

Finding and creating technology solutions that make teacher's jobs easier. It involves providing one-on-one support, helping teachers to use Google Apps for Education, managing accounts and permissions as a system administrator, delivering presentations to the staff, organizing professional development, and helping school administrators by collecting and aggregating data that can be used to inform policy decisions.This role is very dynamic and requires me to go between two schools with a combined population of over 1500 students. Meeting the needs of these two schools is a constantly evolving challenge but I enjoy every minute of it.Some of the notable achievements while in this role include: Transitioned our two schools to digital course binders, created an interactive comment bank, curated a YouTube channel with video tutorials on common issues, created an internal teacher resources website, helped the guidance team to identify students early who needed additional support, updated and improved upon an existing grade reporting tool to make it easier to use and less prone to errors, and organized professional development days for the entire teaching staff.

Lesson planning and Teaching classes (in English) for grades 10-12 including: G10 Math, G11 Math, G10 Information Technology, G11/12 Digital Media.ECAs: Soccer Coach, Game Developers Club, Director for one school play, Technical Director for a 2nd school play.

Instructed 3 lab sections of 20 students each. Taught them the basics of 3D animation and modeling using Maya. Graded individual and Team assignments.

“Programming In The Model”8 Month co-op, working as a programmer for a Phd student. Developed an interactive 2d CAD prototype where the user forms complex relationships through direct interaction while the system builds scripts in the background.* Tasks: Implement new features every week from high-level requirements* Tools: Processing and Java* Result: Learned a lot about large project development, time management, and MVC architecture. Was invited back for part-time work after the first 8 months.

IAT 445: Immersive Environments is an advanced 3d animation course. In the labs we cover Maya as well as the UDK and Unity Game engines. There is a large focus on team project work and so in addition to leading tutorials on software I guide teams of students and provide feedback on their projects.

- I created and ran lessons on game design for campers ages 11 - 16- Taught them how to use UDK, Game Maker, and Blender for making games- Discussed important game design concepts such as mechanics and narrative- Led workshops on paper-prototyping where campers made board games- Very positive reviews from campers and very positive feedback from supervisor
