National Committee Member for initiating a national program of the Indonesian Seaweed Commission (KRLI), Ministry of Marine and Fisheries (MMAF/KKP). This commission is very important to coordinate and integrate all related elements in the seaweed business sectors in Indonesia, both government and private as well as to strengthen the supply chain of seaweed from farmers to global market.

Dean at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Halu Oleo University, having designed the seaweed-based Special Economic Zone (SEZ) concept in SE Sulawesi using supply chain approaches. In addition to having developed a special training of seaweed culture, harvest and market development for around 260 students and farmers in SE Sulawesi.

Principal Consultant to support the distribution of seaweed seedlings in 10 districts in SE Sulawesi in collaboration with DKP (Marine and Fisheries Office) of SE Sulawesi Province. There were 42 tons of seaweed seedlings were produced by previous plantation done by Aslan et al., (2018-19). It covered the selection of high quality seedlings, packaging, transportation, farmers training, and marketing.

Principal investigator and consultant of the Development of Seaweed Village (kampung rumput laut) using of K. Alvarezii in supporting income generation of coastal communities in SE Sulawesi. These activities included : (1) implemented better management practices in farming; (2) certification of seaweed seedlings; (3) livelihood features of seaweed farming households; (4) post-harvest SOPs; (5) women empowerment and small-medium enterprises (SMEs) by publishing a book “The Seaweed Culinary” (in Indonesian); (6) seaweed processing and training for SMEs; (7) market startup for seaweed; (8) supply chain of seaweed industry using institutional approaches.

Principal Indonesian project consultant in Assessing mariculture market constraints and potential in SE Sulawesi: stakeholder engagement and situation analysis. The project was funded by the Smallholder Agribusiness Development Initiative (SADI) of ACIAR, Australia. It was a conceptual framework of an industry development plan to improve seafood smallholder welfare. It identifies the opportunities and constraints faced by the growth of the South East Sulawesi seafood value chain, including seaweed as one of crucial variables in the supply chain characteristics across various locations in SE Sulawesi.
