Laura Power graduated from PennWest Edinboro with a Bachelor of Arts, and a Master of Arts from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, both in Sociology. In 2018, Laura was selected for the Summer Internship program at the American Association of People with Disabilities, earning one of 27 spots out of 2,000 applicants. Laura spoke at the 2022 Pennsylvania Department of Health Equity Summit on the topic of health disparities people with disabilities face, issues exacerbated during the pandemic. Her work in this area continues as a member of the Allegheny Region of PA ARC Initiative on COVID-19 Health Disparities. Laura is a proud participant in the TRAIL program (TRAIL Program — Family Care Act) since its inception in 2020, serves on the Board for Creative Citizen Studios (Creative Citizen studios), and on the Steering Committee for the Western PA Disability History and Action Consortium (wpdhac.org).
