Responsible for supplier selection, tender evaluations, price negotiations, supplier management and inventory controlManage and develop sourcing strategies, building collaborative relationships with core suppliersMonitor and track spend categories for cost savings and price increases and implementing cost saving initiativesManagement of ‘Approved Supplier List’, evaluating and qualifying new suppliers and periodical monitoring of supplier performance to ensure expectations are metManage supplier segmentation and risk management activities ensuring high risk suppliers are identified and strategic objectives implemented to mitigate risk and ensure business continuityResponsible for control and management of Service Level Agreements covering goods and servicesMaterial scheduling, ordering and expediting, tender evaluations and price negotiations of all direct and indirect purchasing to support the operating plan and budgetary guidelines using both SAP R3 and e-procurement applicationsSource and qualify new materials working with key stakeholders from cross functional teamsDevelopment of procurement policies and procedures in-line with corporate objectives and ISO 13485 guidelines

Identify new sources of supply, supplier selection, supplier appraisals, price negotiations and supplier developmentNegotiate pricing and contractual terms & conditions with new and existing suppliersCollation of RFQ packages to include drawings, forecasted volumes and target pricesMonitor high risk suppliers and implement strategies for risk mitigation such as, dual sourcing, resourcing and implementation of safety stocks Ordering, scheduling and expediting of materials using SAP R3 applicationsCo-ordinate and control of inventory, cost reduction and stock analysis projectsMonitor inventory holding and material reorder settings adhering to first pick targets, monitoring suppliers performance against agreed service levels and budgetsIndirect facilities contract management and sourcing of MRO consumables

Responsible for supervision of 3 staff within a busy MRP department tasked with scheduling, ordering and expediting of heavy fabricated steel components, injection moulded plastics and other key components.Ensuring departmental KPI’s are achieved and supplier performance is tracked via vendor rating system Implementation and monitoring of departmental strategic objectives such as stock holding reduction, reduced lead times, standardisation, rationalisation of supplier base, segmentation and risk management, J.I.T and vendor managed inventory systems. Manage Vendor debiting system in accordance with vendor time and essence contract clause.Co-ordinate with key internal and external stakeholders regarding strategic forecast requirements New product development team representative working with key internal and external stakeholders to control prototyping materials through to serial production. Manage smooth implementation of material revisions and change control ensuring minimum obsolescent. Coordinating resale or disposal of obsolete materials. Working with core suppliers on material forecasts, pricing and material availability.
