My love of cinema and television permeates all areas of my life; my leisure time, my academic endeavours and my career aspirations. After graduating from a Broadcast Media degree with First Class Honours I worked in the industry as a freelance Video Editor, while dedicating my spare time to making short films as a writer, producer and director. I was awarded a distinction for my Masters in Fiction Film Production, during which I fell in love with academia. My doctoral research focused on the relationship between China and Hollywood. My past and present research combines industrial analysis with textual analysis, political economy, and cinematic geopolitics. I am an Associate Tutor, teaching in subjects ranging from cultural representations in media, to television studies, to research methods.
