I caught fire writing.Ever since I was a little kid, I always knew I wanted to pursue writing - whether it be copywriting, writing for a little indie publishing company while sipping on cappuccinos, or an independent newspaper chasing the next headline. I just knew I wanted to be in the midst of that environment.And so I decided to study politics and economics. With English and French as my main languages. I know, I know - what happened to my fire? Well, the fire is still blazing bright, but I also realized I had a passion for pursuing the question 'how'. Mainly, how did we end up where we are today? And yet no matter how fired up my arguments were while discussing politics over a smokey whisky or three, I realized most of these questions led back to our own political history and how these structural forces have shaped economic outcomes. So here I am, a student of the business world with a passion for writing. At least my love for cigars is still applicable in both worlds, if J.P. Morgan and Charles Bukowski are any indication.
