The hotel check in experience scores went from 54.5 in May 2018 to 80.7 in May 2019.• Fostered an environment of positivity and inclusion by involving all associates in the department’s “Getting to Know You Wall” and a hockey game group outing.

I was an undergraduate research aide for the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management’s Visitor Harassment Research Unit. My duties included:-Conducting web based research about various types of visitor harassment around the globe-Collecting and recording researched data in excel and word documents -Assisting the graduate research students and professor by informing them of new data or resources

I was the student intern at the Purdue University Welcome Center on campus where I helped in a variety of tasks that varied day to day. My duties include but aren't limited to:-Scheduling tours for our middle school program by contacting and coordinating with various Indiana/Illinois teachers and guidance counselors -Designing worksheets and creating itineraries for incoming middle school tours-Creating Excel sheets to file information-Assisting the volunteer student ambassadors who work the front desk and help with tours-Mentoring and training new student ambassadors -Restocking the brochure displays and taking inventory of supplies-Responding to emails sent to the Welcome Center-Leading tours of campus to Purdue Alumni, new faculty, potential graduate students, and middle school students -Providing riding bus or van tours of campus for larger groups (Purdue reunion groups, conference groups, etc).

I lead and instruct groups in unique learning environments where the goal is to provide an engaging and fun curriculum that applies to life and work outside the program. I help groups enhance skills such as communication, trust, problem solving, and decision making through mental and physical challenges.

I worked aboard and lived on a small cruising vessel on the Mississippi River. During my time on the boat, I was able to view hotel and dining operations first-hand as I learned the importance of teamwork, customer service, and hard work. My abilities to adapt and communicate effectively were grown during my time aboard the boat.

I worked alongside veterinarians and veterinarians technicians in conducting drug testing of standardbred race horses. I collected urine samples, assisted in drawing blood, and labeled urine and blood samples. Learned the value of teamwork, timeliness, and reliability.
