Functions include: Sage accounting including but not limited to making POs, invoicing, linking bank transactions, Sage payroll; petty cash reconciliation; supplier relations management; insurance claims management; fleet card management; maintaining company cellphone contracts; making business payments.

In my last year of study, I worked as an assistant to the Senior Technical Assistant of the Department of Consumer and Food science at the University of Pretoria (Raine Smit). I assisted her in purchasing ingredients for the students, as well as other admin duties.

This was a small business that was established for a fourth-year module called Food Service Management. This business was established by me and fellow students. It entailed a business box that clients could buy, containing pizza bases that were pre-cooked and ingredients that were completed and packaged separately. Clients then received the boxes and finished off the pizza’s at home.

Recreated a Sous vide morogo pork sausage sold at Culinary Equipment company’s retail store and then proceeded to develop a retail product from the initial sous vide product. My developed product was mini pizza’s This development was done as a final year subject through the University of Pretoria, the development processes included the following:- Conducted food styling & photography- Conducted HACCP, GMP- Abilities included standardization of recipes, creating large scale and small-scale recipes, conducting sensory, nutritional and costing analysis, labelling, packaging, and marketing of the product.- Triple testing products- Participated in creating a recipe e-book of the finished product.

This job entails working for the 4th year hospitality students when they had functions for clients, this included multiple jobs such as waitressing, kitchen management of a large-scale kitchen, cleaning management, setting tables for fine dining and overseeing important front of house job for a manager.

This job helped me with my people skills and influenced my confidence. This job was one of many that taught me to take risks and not be afraid to approach people when selling something, this is good as it helped me increase my effectiveness with regards to promotional and marketing skills.
