Trauma-Informed Youth Art Therapist
Current• Act as the on-site trauma-informed therapist at Santa Monica High School (and formerly John Glenn High School) for Margaret's Place, a school-based violence intervention and prevention program designed to help students, faculty, and families address violence in school, at home and in the community.• Provide individual and group art therapy to youth exposed to violence, abuse, bullying, and unhealthy relationships. Create new art therapy group curricula around identity exploration and processing trauma.• Teach trauma education/violence prevention curriculum and create and present educational workshops to youth covering topics of healthy relationships, violence, trauma, coping skills, consent, and more.• Provide outreach, referrals, and workshops for school staff and parents.• Develop, implement, and facilitate a weekly peer leadership group aimed at empowering students to run anti-violence campaigns and activities to educate the school community about healthy relationships and violence-related issues.
