About Lara Donovan
I was 16 when I got my first job. After walking into a local store and asking the manager if they were hiring, I received a phone call, answered some questions, and officially became a storytelling fairy. I was handed a pair of wings, a glittery wand, and the honor of sitting in the store each weekend to spread magic through sharing stories with children. Fast forward some twenty years and I’m still a storytelling fairy on a mission to spread magic. Only instead of wings and a wand, I’m equipped with over 13 years of international experience in communications and employee engagement, and an obsession with facilitating connection. I’ve worked across multiple industries and geographies, collaborating with executives, leaders and teams to develop comms and engagement strategies that have impact - shoutout to measurement - and drive greater connection throughout the organization and beyond. I'm a big fan of simplicity, so let me cut to the chase. Here are the things I am good at, and love doing:- Connecting people to ideas, to purpose, and to each other through sharing stories.- Helping people truly understand the point of what they're doing at work by making the complex stuff simple. Alongside comms, I'm also an executive coach - I work closely with leaders (and their teams) to help them build trust and find their authenticity. - Understanding the nuance of working across cultures. I've lived and worked throughout Australasia, Asia and Europe, and held global roles for most of my career.
