Collaborate with IDZ team & delegate assignments & responsibilities.•Strategically plan and manage development of lens applications for all eye wear categories for on time deliver to market: Oakley sun, Oakley 3D eye wear, Oakley & ESS military ballistic spectacles & goggles, MX goggles, Snow Goggles & supplemental Luxottica brand sun & fashion.•In addition to new lens technologies, recommend & delegate step change process improvement endeavors based upon desired key performance indicators such as enhanced product performance, waste elimination, cost savings & increased throughput.• Ensure projects on time, on budget, within cosmetic yield targets & meeting or exceeding all performance criteria for a turnkey hand off to Production.•Partner on a technical level with global manufacturing plants & suppliers for standardization & continual improvement.

Accountable for managing multiple lens projects with large scale budget & leading cross functional teams to ensure scope, cost, timeline & product specifications for performance / quality were met.• Oversee planning, tracking & implementation of lens development & industrialization ventures utilizing project management tools & phase gate tracking. Regularly reported status to stake holders for alignment.•Globally collaborated with Luxottica facilities in Italy, China & US for mutual lens projects: new product development, polarized lens technology advancements, vision inspection system implementation for less handling & higher yields, injection tooling improvements for high definition optics, automation application & manufacturing innovations.

Designated as the Oakley chief lens engineer & in-house subject matter expert. Created all lens solid model geometries, optical parameters, peripheral features for downstream processes, DFM, aesthetic color & spectral criteria & lens injection molding tool design support. •Piloted cross-functional teams for new lens development & continual improvement of existing products. Collaborated with R&D, manufacturing, quality, product team & upper management. Orchestrated multi-department design reviews. Negotiated conflict resolutions between departments.•Orchestrated DOEs and analyzed data to solve problems in all stages of lens development. •Supported local production that yielded approximately 16,000,000 lens blanks annually, valued at virtually $54,000,000, including all Oakley, Revo, Military, ESS & supplemental Luxottica lens blanks. Area included capital lens equipment & tooling valued over $20,000,000: 18 lens coating systems, 20 Molding presses & 35 lens molding tools w/ 200% optical insert spares. •Conceptualized, drafted & implemented enhanced optical bench for lab testing & in process checks of lens blanks & finished goods eyewear for meeting or exceeding ANSI Z87.1 safety eyewear performance standards. •Trained lab technicians for the use of optical equipment & standards across global organization. Provided optical technical support which included problem solving, corrective actions, continual improvement & compliance to optical performance standards. Carried primary support of global optics integration across all Luxottica Lens production plants after Luxottica acquired Oakley in ’07.
