I spent my time as a graduate student with ISB trying to understand further the biophysical interaction between Lamin A and SIRT1. I was interested in how this interaction became affected when presented with a protein in a diseased state. I used various techniques to learn more about this protein-protein interaction. PCR, sequencing, protein expression, NMR, SEC-MALS, and mass spectroscopy were employed. The data I collected was analyzed using various methods, including Excel, MATLAB, and python. I presented data weekly to my team, who provided protocol and experiment optimization feedback. I had the opportunity to show my data at multiple conferences through poster sessions.

Research on the binding between DBC1 and SIRT1. This work included protein expression and purification techniques necessary to study the proteins. Cooperating with team members to meet multiday goals was vital. Research of this type is essential as SIRT1 is important in many disease including type 2 diabetes.

I coordinated with the sales team for local events. I researched current marketing trends and compared data with that of similar companies. I communicated new and upcoming marketing strategies to our team.
