I worked in the Infrastructure and Environment Governance Policy and Strategy (IEGPS) area. The IEGPS is responsible for environmental compliance and sustainability. Highlights/Duties:• Provided a guide on surveying for species listed in the Species at Risk Act. Researched on standard survey methodologies available for groups of SAR and determined how often DND should be completing surveys for different classes of SAR (e.g plants, birds, insects, etc).• Researched on BluePrint 2020, an engagement strategy to improve the efficiency and quality of the Public Service. Created a short presentation based on research and presented it to colleagues. • In charge of monitoring and updating a large database. The database contained important information on Environmental Assessments for proposed projects within federal lands. Environmental Assessments identify potential adverse environmental effects, proposes measures to mitigate adverse environmental effects and predicts if there will be significant adverse environmental effects after mitigation measures are implemented. • Filed and organized Environmental Assessments into their respective folders based on the location of the project.
