CurrentWe conduct regulatory research in support of diagnostic activities, risk assessment activities and public health agencies during foodborne outbreaks and trace-back investigations:- Evaluation, development and validation of molecular diagnostic methods for foodborne viruses associated to human illnesses and emerging viruses of food significance.-Development of genotyping and genomic characterization methods for norovirus and hepatitis A virus extracted from food samples. -Development of metavirome sequencing methods for detection and identification of foodborne viruses. -Evaluation of viral persistence of human norovirus on food surfaces.
