I am a visionary leader and change agent in urban education that brings over two decades of experience in challenging the status quo and championing equitable educational reform. Starting as an English teacher in Detroit, I took on various roles, including department head, advanced placement teacher, and literacy coach. In 2014, I transitioned into school leadership, serving as an assistant principal and dean of academics. Later, I held the central office position of Director of K-12 ELA and Social Studies. In 2021, I accepted my designation as the superintendent of Old Redford Academy where I spearheaded a bold two-year turnaround model that focused on a four-phase strategic plan: Stabilize, Transition, Develop/Grow, and Sustain. This comprehensive approach aimed to address critical concerns, assess needs, facilitate compliance, evaluate programs, reset culture, make staffing adjustments, implement initiatives, provide talent support, and ensure social equity, economic viability, and environmental protection.Under my leadership, Old Redford Academy underwent a comprehensive rebranding process, fostering community partnerships and dedicating itself to academic excellence through student-centered learning.I hold an Education Specialist in Leadership from Oakland University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Oakland University. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at Western Michigan University.
