Working for a world leader in Materials Handling Equipment manufacture which utilises State-of-the-art welding robots, latest generation Flexible Machining Systems and other CNC controlled presses and machining centres. Protective coatings applied in a modern conveyor line paint plant, and assembly done on multi-station assembly lines. Annual turnover £250m+Responsible for• Overall running of the Maintenance Department, which covers machine, plant, land and building maintenance on site. Budget circa £2.8M• Health, Safety and Environmental Department, which is responsible for the company meeting all current legislation in these areas.• Security, Cleaning and Part time Firemen• Implementation of Preventive Maintenance, using a variety of diagnostic techniques, to minimise machine downtime and to use resources in the most cost-effective manner.• Initiating projects to optimise production and reduce running costs and overheads.• Depot building maintenance.• Energy saving by both investment projects and implementation of low/no cost ideas.

Working in a modern clutch manufacturing facility with automatic machining and assembly lines, N.C controlled machines and presses. Using highly sophisticated interlinked computer systems, MRP, time clocking, stores control / movement, maintenance and tooling are controlled. Responsible for the day to day running of the Plant Department with a staff of eight on a three shift system, five apprentices and a Budget of circa £300K. Implemented Preventive Maintenance, using a variety of diagnostic techniques, to minimise machine downtime and to use resources in the most cost-effective manner. Best overall Downtime 0.9%. Specified the Engineering Standards and Safety of all Projects done both in and out of house.Installation Project experience gained when the factory was built and later extended, including Electrical specification; Specification and installation of all shop floor data systems; Design and implementation of Engineering Stores System; Installation of Process Lines and Cells.

Working in Herbicide, Insecticide and Latex producing plants, within the site.Responsible for day-to-day electrical problems and preventive maintenance, using team of contractors. Scheduling long term maintenance for shutdowns. Maintenance of electrical equipment. Important role as most equipment was in an explosive atmosphere.
