Manages and administers the safety and occupational health program for a brigade combat team (BCT) containing over 4200 Soldiers, 300 vehicles, 30 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), with ground support maintenance facilities, administrative offices and Soldiers barracks. Implements technical/tactical safety standards, codes, and safety requirements for a variety of operations Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) compliance; DOD safety and health standards; anti-terrorism and force protection; fire prevention; explosives safety; flammable storage and handling; ground safety; aviation safety; weapons and range safety; for live fire combine arms ranges with aviation interdiction; deployment safety (air, rail, port, barge, MHE and line haul); motor vehicle safety; unmanned aerial vehicle operations; construction safety; maritime safety; ionizing and non-ionizing radiation conformity; electrical safety; Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and high yield Energy (CBRNE). Present to commanders, directors, managers, special staff officers technical safety standards and codes. Conducts independent and joint risk assessment studies for military deployments, combat operations, training exercises. Prepare operation order annexes for health and safety, anti-terrorism and force protection, mass casualty plan and environmental compliance. Manages safety surveys, inspections, evaluations, studies, accidents investigations, accident investigation boards, and provides the required technical reports. Coordinates and supervised confined space operations. Prepares emergency response procedures and certifies first responders for all types of accidents and environmental events. Trained and experienced in Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) planning and response for community disasters. Attended and graduated from the OSHA Academy Professional Certificate Program, 132 hour Occupational Safety and Health Professional, 233 hour Oil and Gas Safety and Health Professional.
