Relieve/replace any missing operators for holidays, sickness or other. Acting Process Plant Supervisor as needed. Perform all related duties to any position to be filled. Responsible for accurate and timely daily reports. Correct problems as they occur. As a team leader, responsible to provide help to operators as needed. Inform supervisor of equipment malfunctions that need to be repaired. Record production data every shift. Troubleshoot any issues that occur during shift in a timely manner to prevent down time. Manipulate controls,levers and valves to start pumps,various equipment or conveyors,adjust equipment positions,speeds,timing and material flows. Add chemicals to various areas of the plant as needed, ex: Lime,Cyanide,Prills,Caustic,anti- scale,Lead Nitrate,Calcium. Respond with appropriate action when receiving alarm signals Work with maintenance to troubleshoot problems and ascertains probable cause. Monitor plant operations and detect any changing conditions with regard to maximizing plant safety and efficiency.Grinding operations, Leaching, CIP,Reagent operations,

De Beers Victor Mine

Start-up, Commissioning phase of DeBeers Victor Mine. Commissioning of all equipment within the Process Plant. Accountabilities:-Adhere to process plant operational procedures for production goal achievment and handle work safely.-Input operational system status with applicable journals and control tools.-Function as plant operation to calibrate and troubleshoot automation,power and building interface systems.-Gain awareness of system operating requirements and trends and suggest operating adjustment suggestions.-Manage electrical and mechanical equipment and facilities with the competency of a plant operator.-Conduct emergency operations for electrical service and protecting station equipment.-Oversee control room desk consisting of 8 HMI computer screens.-Reply to production floor requests and machine stoppage alerts.-Oversee production and process key metrics for operating plant machinery within parameters.-Assess production logs and support process management to troubleshoot.-Handle equipment maintenance and lockout as per standard operating procedures.-Ensure timeliness,completeness and administrative requirements accuracy.-Submit internal work orders for equipment failures.-Receive and reply to calls from process plant operators-Support, coordinate, assist and direct all members of the process plant during operations,-Follow the application of best work practices.-Support and assist process plant operational/maintenance activities to ensure timely and effective resolution to on shift issues,equipment reliability,safety and environment issues to supervisor that are not resolved prior to end of every shift.-Ensure effective communication at shift change to incoming shift personnel including the clear and complete communication of equipment.-Ensure reliability ,productivity, quality, safety and environment issues.-Responsible for efficient process plant start ups and shut downs.

Kapuskasing

Accountabilities:-Ensure the achievement of the shift machine production budget and that customer specifications are met.-Support and assist all members of the machine crew in the machine and winder operation to meet newsprint production budgets while fully meeting customer specifications and all applicable safety and environmental guidelines and regulations.-Follow the application of effective and best work practices.-Support and assist winder and machine operational/maintenance activities to ensure timely and effective resolution to on shift process issues,equipment reliability,safety and environmental issues.-Report any immediate issues to the third hand that is effecting winder production,prime production,customer non-conformances and/or safety and environmental guidelines and regulations.-Report any outstanding issues to head machine tender that are not resolved prior to the end of every shift.-Ensure the effective communication at shift change to incoming shift workers,including the clear and complete communication of equipment reliability,productivity,quality,safety and environmental issues.-Support and ensure standards for safety and housekeeping work practices are maintained and followed.-Support and assist in keeping winders caught up or getting caught up.-Responsible for keeping side hill decker clean at all times.-Advise and/or recommend changes or opportunities that will contribute to optimizing the short and long term growth objectives of the site to supervisor.-Responsible to study all phases of the job at hand to keep up their knowledge.-Support any other duties as assigned.-Provide assistance as required to other machine crews.
