About Larry Chavis

I am an Indigenous scholar and teacher with research and degrees in anthropology, Asian studies, and economic development. As one of only a handful of Native American economists, my top priority is to impact students and communities. For working to inspire, provide access, and create belonging, I have been honored with eagle feathers by two North Carolina tribes, tapped for membership in UNC’s Order of the Golden Fleece, and received five teaching awards in Kenan Flagler Business School’s MBA and undergrad programs.
