Larry is an independent trainer and consultant applying immersive, experiential approaches to team and organizational development challenges. Authentic and relational, Larry heightens awareness and connection while addressing themes of team effectiveness, emotional intelligence, culture and conflict. Engaging strategies for instructional settings and professional development for educators are areas of particular expertise. He is also a writer and social entrepreneur having launched, further developed and/or documented diverse projects and initiatives within hundreds of schools and organizations. His clients, local and national in scale, span the US and 5 continents.Arriving at Project Adventure from Outward Bound in 2006 he served as full-time Senior Trainer and Consultant and Training Director until 2020 specializing in team and leadership development to education, corporate and non-profit institutions. Clients include US and international independent schools and universities, leading experience-based training organizations in several countries, as well as large and small businesses in diverse sectors. In recent years initiatives included applying adventure-based training methods for developing and integrating Social Emotional Learning and school climate initiatives, advancing team and leadership models, addressing messy conflict, and building experiential education initiatives and movements globally. Today, still affiliated with Project Adventure part-time, he is also a strategic initiatives consultant to the Massachusetts Immigrant Collaborative and IFSI-USA (Immigrant Family Services Institute).Larry entered Experiential Education from the fields of international development and humanitarian aid applying participatory models within rural and urban community development settings in West Africa. There he launched two NGO's in Mali including Association Tassaght which today is the countries' largest national NGO operating in the conflict ridden north and central regions. In addition to English he has professional competency in French and also speaks German, some Spanish and some residual memory of Tamachek and Moore. An Environmental Studies major at Middlebury College he later earned an M.S. in International Administration from the School for International Training/World Learning in Vermont.

Through speaking engagements and a photography exhibit present the environmental, political and economic challenges facing Tuareg peoples of northern Mali.
